Editor - Johnie Scaggs Jr. - Born in 1955, Johnie preached his first sermon at the age of 14 in Winona, MO. Married to Nancy Scaggs in 1976, they have 4 children Crystal Lockhart, Jared Scaggs, Roy Scaggs and Stephen Scaggs. His most proud that all his chilren are faithful Christians devoted to the Lord, and loves to spend time with his 7 grandchildren. Johnie decided to preach full-time in 1981. Graduate of 8th and Lee school of preaching in 1985, and Southwest School of Biblical Studies in 1988. He was also made an honorary Memphis School of Preaching Alumni in 2016. His local work has been in OK, AR, MO, FL, and GA. Currently preaches for the Bellevue church of Christ in Dublin, GA.
Tom Moore is a 1976 graduate of Dripping Springs High School. He is a 1986 graduate of the Southwest School of Bible Studies in Austin, Texas. He has preached in local congregations in Laurel (Delaware), Buna (Texas), Comanche (Texas), Port Lavaca (Texas), Malvern (Arkansas), Temple, (Texas) Hamilton (Texas), and is currently a full-time instructor and Dean of Students for the Texas School of Preaching. Tom has also done course work at Jerusalem University College in Jerusalem, Israel, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Ministry from Southern Christian University.
Walter Young has been a faithful Christan for a long time. He is a retired Navy veteran and military contractor. Married to Sister Louise Young they have 4 daughters and 4 grandchildren. Brother Young works diligently with the Chaffee Road Church of Christ.
Jared Scaggs is a 2016 graduate of the Memphis School of Preaching. Married to Dorothy Crystal Scaggs, they have 3 children; Zane, Dean and Lacy Scaggs. Zane the oldest son has recently obeyed the gospel. He is the preacher at the Church of Christ in Claxton, Ga. He is also on the board of the Gospel Journal, does layout work with Basic Bible Truth Publications and designs websites for multiple churches. He is a United States veteran, serving four years in the Navy.
Jason Rollo - Native Texan. Married to B.J. (Bobbi Jan) for over 27 years; 2 sons (Jackson [age 25; wife Kate], Josiah [age 22; wife Nikki]) and 2 daughters (Jenna [age 15] and Julia [age 12]). Graduate of Houston College of the Bible (1999) and Sam Houston State University (1997) with business degree. Working with a number of local works in Texas, including towns like Apple Springs, TX, Huntsville, TX, Bryan/College Station, TX, Hurst, TX and Lovelady, TX (where he grew up). Currently Jason serves as one of the elders at the BCS congregation in College Station, TX. Jason is actively involved with the local college Bible work (working with students from Blinn College and Texas A&M University). Typically, he and his wife BJ host fellowships/Bible studies with this group, in their home. Jason supports himself in secular employment (He owns insurance agencies scattered throughout various states). Over the years, Jason has been on mission trips to: Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, and Mexico. He has also taken Biblical education trips to Turkey and Israel. Over the years, Jason has preached in numerous Lectureships and Gospel Meetings, throughout multiple states. Jason is the author of the BSP (Bible Study Program) work (www.biblestudyprogram.org). He also serves on the Board of Tullstar (www.tullstar.org). Further, he is the Associate Director of the Texas School of Preaching (www.texasschoolofpreaching.com). Jason is currently 48 years old and has been preaching since age 19. Jason also has a background in agriculture, and still enjoys his small ranch in Texas, as well as spending time with good brethren and his faithful family.
Michael and his wife Carrie have four children, Shelby, Michaela, Dawson and Jackson, and three grand children. They have lived and worked in Bangs for the past twenty-seven years. Michael directs two camp sessions each summer, and is president of Tullstar… a work specializing in using modern media formats; paired with 40 years of archived material to reach the world with the Gospel. He has for the past 25 years conducted a thirty minute weekly radio program in Brownwood each Sunday morning on KOXE FM, and publishes two tracts a quarter. He was educated at Texas State University (B.A. and M.A.) and The Southwest School of Biblical Studies in Austin, Texas (class of 1991). He has worked on mission campaigns in Jamaica, Tobago, Englandand Russia. He speaks on various lectureships across the county and conducts several meeting each year. He is also a business man in Brownwood/Bangs area and active community member. Michael also serves as one of the elders for the congregation in Bangs.
Mike Hixson -
Mike began preaching in Nashville while in school at Lipscomb University. After receiving his B.A., Mike earned a Masters Degree from Amridge University, and is an honorary graduate of the Memphis School of Preaching. He and Nancy have been married since 1987. They have a son, Braden.
Mike has been preaching in the Memphis area since 1991, and has been the full time pulpit minister at Olive Branch church of Christ since 2007. He has a weekly radio and television program, Anchor of the Soul, hosts Counterpoint with B.J. Clarke, is a former instructor for the Jamaica School of Preaching, and currently teaches for the International Academy of Biblical Studies.
Glenn Hitchcock was born in Newport News, Va. He is married to the former Mercedes Dowson (47 Yrs.) and they have one daughter, Lauren (23). Lauren attends Graduate school at Old Dominion University. The Hitchcocks are members of the Peninsula church of Christ, where Glenn serves as an elder. Glenn is an honorably discharged Viet-Nam Era veteran of the U.S.A.F. (72-80). He served as crew chief on the Early Warning Command post aircraft.
Glenn attended Oklahoma School of Biblical Studies (79-80). He is a 82 graduate of the Memphis School of Preaching and a 88 graduate of Saint Leo University [BA degree]. He completed graduate education in 95 from Norfolk State University School of Social Work [MSW].
He served as adjunct professor (95-02) Norfolk State University School of Social Work and taught (14-16) in the Georgia School of Preaching.
The Hitchcocks have conducted meetings, marriage seminars, and campaigns in Africa, Bermuda, India, Japan, South Africa, as well as the United States. He has been preaching the
gospel for over 38 years. He is the editor of the daily devotional “Thoughts for Today to Brighten Your Day.” Glenn is currently a
retired Licensed Master Social Worker, but he continues to write, preach, consult, and hold meetings throughout the brotherhood.
